Goldhofer AG can look back over a long history: things started with a family-owned forge in 1705. Alois Goldhofer founded the “Allgäuer Fahrzeugwerke” in 1946. The development of the first lowloader with rear end loading marked the decisive step which opened up new markets.

Located in Memmingen, the company is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of special vehicles. The great variety of products extends from heavy duty trailers to self-propelled modular trailers up to towbarless aircraft tractors and aircraft recovery systems.

And what did not exist so far, was a book of heavy duty specialists. Lothar Husemann and Michael Bammel herewith present the vehicles and their technology with numerous illustrations and spectacular job photographs.
